Creation of a Community Hub at Gladstone Buildings

P4YP CIC are so very pleased to announce the creation of a Community Hub in the former Sir George Kenning building ‘Gladstone buildings’ at Clay Cross where we are moving to shortly….. Planning is now approved and we will be starting work shortly to create: Tea Rooms Library/reading lounge Community museum Sensory Room and baby massage/play activities Rentable meeting/training room and office space Alternative Provision Activities and Clubs Historian and Author workshops Children Story time, Knit and Natter and Over 60’s Afternoon tea and parlour games etc….. We will be raising funding to create an Art Gallery and Exhibition space bringing art and heritage to the heart of Clay Cross celebrating the heritage of the town as well as encouraging inspirational art through art workshops with celebrated artists. Coalfields Community Investment Programme Funding

All members of the community will benefit from the £10,000 funding awarded from Coalfields Community Investment Programme. The funding will support a variety of activities like: A fruit and veg coop and any additional produce at the end of each session will be donated to the local food bank which is used by many in the village. A family luncheon club and cookery courses will enable those who attend to learn to cook and eat nutritious meals on a budget A weekly youth group that will also link into the vegetable co-op and luncheon club The aim of this project is to improve the health of the community, encouraging them to eat more healthily and to take part in physical activity through all the different elements of the project…. Big Lottery – Celebration Funding

February Half term starts the first of our celebrations funded by Big Lottery Celebration funding at the dance festival being held at Tupton Hall School. The festival has a full weeks events planned with dancers attending from many local and wider reaching dance organisations, alongside the festival there will be a fabulous added extra of ‘Extreme Wheels’ and go carting. This festival aims to be full of entertainment, engagement and fun…....

Big Lottery Funding to support community project

Positive for Young People CIC (P4YP CIC) has been awarded £9,885 to run a Community Activity Project in North Wingfield area. This project will run activities for young people who are experiencing the effects of anti social behaviour and economic deprivation. The project will encourage young people and members of the community to become more socially confident through the provision of fun activities providing intergeneration activities on the community allotment, and a variety of activities in the community centre like flower arranging, cake decorating etc…..
